Spongy Moth Treatment in Currituck

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services recently sent out notices regarding treatment for the Spongy Moth (formerly known as the Gypsy Moth) in the Currituck and Dare County areas. The treatment is planned for the April/May time frame. According to NCDA&CS, spongy moth caterpillars feed on over 300 species of trees and shrubs and are considered one of the most destructive insect pests threatening our rural and urban forests.
