This summer, “hot” was an understatement — and what better place to be than North Beach?

NBPA made its presence felt throughout the season. “Just Ask” was a staple at our Beach Ambassador Tents, where we handed out hundreds of tire gauges, re-homed pool floats, and met thousands of visitors who share our love for this beach.

Our Beach Access Survey received more than 560 responses, and we look forward to sharing the results with you on November 12 at 5:00 PM at Carova Beach Fire Station.  NBPA also took several County Commissioners and County staff on a much-anticipated tour of North Beach. We also addressed the ongoing issue of leftover Brightspeed cables.

So, what can you expect from us moving forward? We will continue working with environmental, government, and education partners to establish best practices for this unique stretch of shore. Unity across these Last 12 Miles is the path forward. NBPA will keep informing, asking questions, and exploring sustainable, conservation-based ways for visitors to experience what makes this beach unlike any other on the Outer Banks.

As we approach our first year serving this community, thank you for your support. We hope you will join us.

Best regards,
Carol Slamowitz
President, NBPA
